Local Governments Deserve the Best Cybersecurity. That’s why AXS Guard Is Partnering with V-ICT-OR

Security Partner of V-ICT-OR

As an IT manager or employee in a city or municipality, you carry a tremendous responsibility: keeping your local government’s digital infrastructure running smoothly while safeguarding the sensitive data of thousands of citizens.

Local governments face many of the same cybersecurity challenges as large corporations, often with far smaller budgets and fewer resources. On top of that, growing regulatory requirements and the push toward greater digital sovereignty make the job even more demanding. AXS Guard understands these challenges, providing practical and effective solutions that cut through the expensive, complicated jargon.

Security Partner of V-ICT-OR

That’s why AXS Guard is excited to partner with V-ICT-OR, a Flemish ICT Organization that connects IT professionals from local governments. As a Security Partner, we join this community because we believe a strong network and shared knowledge are the best defense against today’s cyberthreats.

What does this mean for V-ICT-OR members in practice?

  • Direct access to expertise: Our partnership makes it easier for members to discuss their cybersecurity challenges directly with AXS Guard specialists.
  • A sounding board that speaks your language: As a 100% Belgian company, we understand the realities of government contracts, budget cycles and the unique challenges the public sector is facing.
  • Pragmatic advice, not corporate jargon: We help you set the right priorities. What's the best way to get the most out of a limited budget? Which risks should be addressed first?
  • Guidance on the NIS2 directive: As new regulations approach, we offer clear insights and practical steps to help you prepare for compliance.
  • A partner you can trust: In the debate on digital sovereignty, we offer the reliability of a trusted European player.

Thibault Van Win, who leads the AXS Guard Cybersecurity Competence Center, will be presenting one of the breakout sessions.

Breakout:
How We Infiltrated and Took Down an AI-Powered Phishing Ring

Thibault Van Win - AXS Guard SOC Lead

What will Thibault be talking about? In cybersecurity, criminals are constantly reinventing themselves. One striking example is the recent discovery of the “Vibe Kit”, an advanced phishing toolkit generated by a Large Language Model (LLM). Despite its sophistication, it still had a few teething problems. That’s where the AXS Guard SOC team came in.

Not only did we uncover this cutting-edge kit, but we also identified a critical flaw in it. This gave us unprecedented access, allowing us to infiltrate the heart of the phishing operation. In this session, you’ll get a front-row seat to the cat-and-mouse game that followed: from proactively rescuing victims, to working closely with the Federal Computer Crime Unit (FCCU) to collect crucial forensic evidence.

You’ll also hear about the highs and lows ; there’s euphoria when taking down a cyber gang, but also frustration when stringent banking procedures slow down response efforts.

This case illustrates the difference between a standard cybersecurity approach and the significant value delivered by the AXS Guard SOC, supported by a dedicated team of local experts. An alarm system warns you of a fire; we're the ones who go in and put it out.

You will get a rare behind-the-scenes look at operations that usually stay in the shadows. Buckle up.
