This daylong module demonstrates EMV-card effectiveness in strengthening transaction security through Strong User Authentication. It presents an overview of concepts pertaining to hardware-based authenticators and card readers. This module is covered in two parts, the first of which explains the basic working principles of such devices and examines the advantages of each solution, as well as their total cost of ownership.
The second part of this module summarizes various points an organization should consider before launching an EMV-CAP project. In particular, business and technical requirements of an EMV-CAP implementation will be examined, including back-end infrastructure, multi-channel compatibility, supported applications, usability, reader preference and customer convenience.
The day ends with an overview of alternatives to CAP and suitable solutions for different markets.
