Summary
VASCO Data Security is looking for a highly skilled ‘Linux System Engineer’ to enforce its R&D team in Mechelen.
The R&D team is responsible to develop and implement the software in the aXsGUARD appliances and the VASCO Authentication Service platform, as well as to optimize and extend the infrastructure to efficiently update and monitor customer systems and services.
Profile
You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
You have several years of experience as a System Engineer in a Linux environment, both with bare metal servers and virtual platforms.
Knowledge in following domains is an asset:
- Linux Debian, Ubuntu, Xen
- Networking: TCP/IP and most common protocols (Routing, DHCP, Bootp, PXE, SMTP, POP, IMAP, ...)
- Security: Firewalls, (Reverse) Proxies, Content scanning
- Applications: Apache, Postfix, BIND, Ip-tables,
- Technologies: Load-balancing, High Availability, ...
- Monitoring: Zenoss, Nagios, ...
You are a team-player.
Although it is mainly a job in Mechelen, you are willing to travel World-Wide for short amounts of time if needed for the job.
You are fluent in Dutch and English.
Responsibilities
The ‘Linux System Engineer’ will be actively involved in all steps of the development (specification, design, implementation, testing and documentation). More specifically, he/she will be active in the configuration and deployment of our Service Infrastructure. The objective is to obtain a secure, high performance and fault redundant infrastructure to deploy the several Service Oriented software.
Key Tasks:
Analyzing, design, implementation, testing & documentation
Work at the professional level with some general guidance and direction
Translate the functional requirements into a practical implementation
Follow up of warnings and errors, solve them, invent solutions to avoid these in the future
Study and improve Security Functions
