Summary
VASCO is a fast growing company and is looking forhighly skilled Linux Software Engineers to reinforce its team in Mechelen.
The development team implements and maintains all software in the Linux-based appliances. We also optimize and extend the back-office infrastructure to update and monitor customer systems improving efficiency.
You will be actively involved in all steps of the product development (specification, design, development, testing and documentation).
If you are interested in Linux, security and programming, then you can use/improve/hone your skills in a group of like-minded peers.
Responsibilities
Key tasks are:
Analyze and Design:
Contribute actively to technical product specifications
Development:
-Design and develop product according to the specifications,
-Manage complex, secure and important pieces of codes,
-Vouch for the quality of the code, coding standard and design,
-Perform code review,
-Organize code backup,
-Make sure code is reusable,
-Perform the unit tests,
-Perform product maintenance and bug solving.
Profile
You have excellent communication and analytical skills.
You have a higher degree in Software Engineering (Master/Bachelor) or Computer Science.
Knowledge of:
- Perl, Ruby, Shell, Python,...
- Linux / Unix development environment
- Kernel development is a plus
- Networking TCP/IP and most common protocols (DHCP, SMTP, POP, IMAP, ...)
- Security, Firewall principles, Content Scanning, ...
- Web technologies: HTML, CSS, Javascript, Ajax,…
- Knowledge of C/C++ is a plus
You speak fluently Dutch and English. French is an extra asset.
You are a team-player.
Although it is mainly a job in Mechelen, you are willing to travel World-Wide for short amounts of time if needed for the Job.
