Summary
The mission of the ‘Accounts Receivable Accountant’ is to make sure customers pay on due date, that the revenue recognition binder is complete and that deadlines are respected.
The ‘Accounts Receivable Accountant’ will be responsible from A to Z for the Accounts Receivables, including journal entries, monthly closing, VAT declaration, accounts reconciliations and credit & collection.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, post, and review journal entries on a timely basis (clients’ invoices and bank statements) with the support of an Assistant Accountant
- Prepare monthly closing documents
- Prepare account reconciliations and handle intercompany invoices
- Prepare expense payments as required
- Post all expenses into the system on a timely basis
- Supervise and review work of 1 to 2 accounting direct reports
- Perform credit analysis and collection procedures
- Complete VAT tasks
- Follow up on outstanding items
- Complete ad hoc requests as requested by the accounting manager
- Identify ways to improve processes and be engaged in implementation of improvements
- Communicate with suppliers, customers, consultants, and other company employees on issues and discrepancies
- Make/maintain copies of documentation as required
- Backup for Accounts Payable accountant
Profile
- Bachelors degree in Accountancy
- Minimum 3 years working experience in an accounting environment including monthly closing of books
- Solid experience with Accounts Receivables, revenue recognition and expense notes with a good insight into VAT matters
- Ability to supervise staff of 1 or 2 employees
- Ability to communicate with non accounting employees regarding accounting and finance issues
- Fluency in English and Dutch (orally and written). Good knowledge of French is an asset
- Strong computer skills with expertise in excel
- Strong analytical skills
